Hi Everyone!

I want to say happy holidays to everyone here at FindVirtual.com! What a year it has been for Kelly and I'm extremely glad to be part of this forum and great community! As the year 2008 comes to an end, it's time to think about 2009. What are your business goals for the upcoming year?

Since I started my VA practice part-time mid-July, here are a few to start off the discussion:

1. Commit to blogging at least twice a week
2. Open a separate business account for expenses/income, etc.
3. Apply for a business license
4. Obtain at least 2 new clients each quarter. (This is a tough one!)
5. Increase my referral team of VAs

So fellow VAs...what are your 2009 business goals?

My business goals for 2009 are:

1. Try and organise my day better - I work full time and do my VA work in the evenings and weekends. I need to be a lot more disciplined with myself when it comes to the Internet! "Just popping onto the computer to check my emails" usually ends up being a couple of hours once I get side tracked!

2. Concentrating on my Unique Selling Point (USP). I still have to completely "nail" what is my USP (!) but I am finding localization between US English and UK English interesting. In order to do this I really have to brush up on my grammar again - something I haven't really done much of since I was at school many (many) years ago!

3. Being more disciplined about doing my Bookkeeping/Accounting Home Study Course. This is a "string to my bow" which will be very useful in the future. Numbers are not my "thing" so I have found it quite a difficult course. I need to do at least one unit a week and stick to this regime.

4. Keep up the advertising/marketing and see what works!

5. I think I also will try and aim for 2 new clients each quarter too!

6. Remember to have fun and enjoy my VA work!

OK that's my list of goals - who's next?

I hope you all have a very happy and prosperous New Year!

Julie

Here are mine:

1. Get FindVirtual.com listed #1 on page 1 of Google by June 2009.

2. Turn this community into a destination where we can secure clients and drive business for our members without compromising integrity.

3. Submit an article to a major magazine and have it published, something like Entrepreneur, Inc. or US News & World Report.

4. Partner with all the best resources and services that help us expand our minds, learn and grow our practice.

5. Launch the FindVirtual.com professional advisory board and become the thought leader for the virtual assistant industry.

6. Secure at least 6 Fortune 500 clients by the end of 2009.

7. Make this the best possible virtual assistant community available online.

8. Attend more local city council meetings and network with local small businesses.

9. Speak to a student body at a major college on the topic of entrepreneurship.

10. Stay grounded and humble through it all... :)

I have over 100 goals for 2009 - to many to list but I WILL accomplish them all.
Think big Girls and the World will take notice!

Before I list my top five goals for 2009 I wanted to ask if anyone is willing to join me in being an accountability partner. Success coaches indicate that we are more likely to succeed with our goals if we pair up with an accountability partner! Therefore, I'm seeking one or two people to partner with in 2009!

My top five goals in 2009 are as follows:
1. Find three or more clients that are willing to pay me $1,000 or more per month
2. Finish and publish the book I recently started
3. Lose 30.2 pounds
4. Spend one evening, per week, with my son
5. Learn how to effectively blog
6. (okay, make it six goals for 2009) to become a non-smoker and chose to only breathe healthy air!

Great Idea Michelle, I would definately be interested in being an accountability partner with you, I need that. My goals take up an Excel spreadsheet. My main goal for 2009 is to better organize and use my time to be more productive. Once I do this I can then take on more business and reach toward my big goal of owning a Real Estate VA firm that is made up of specialists in all areas of real estate administration.

Wenda: Awesome and thank you! When you say your goal is take up an Excel spreadsheet, what exactly do you mean?

What steps are you committing to becoming more organized?

I didn't read your profile (so forgive this question) are you currently a Real Estate VA? If so, what type of real estate?

How often should we touch base? I was thinking maybe once a week? This is the first time I've worked with an accountability partner so we'll have to learn as we go-or should I say "grow"?

Sue - are all of your goals for 2009? Have you read the book, Book Yourself Solid by Michael Port. I'm only on Chapter 2 and it's been really good and thought provoking right now!

Hi Michelle. No, I haven't read that book, though it's on my list to do so one of these days.
