Ongoing education is vital to any self-employed person. It's easy to run beside your bicycle instead of taking time to stop and get on it. Don't make that mistake. Plan time, energy, and funds for education.

What's your self-education strategy? Are you reading books, taking classes, working with a coach or mentor?

What do you wish you could do to learn, but don't think it's possible?

What's the best tool or strategy you've used in the past?

Are you working on skills training, business development training, or personal development?

Totally agree with you Joel, keeping up with the fast-paced world of technology we rely so heavily on for our own businesses, and serving our clients is both a challenge and a priority. I schedule some time on my calendar each Friday to learn something new, that can take many forms: seeking out a new business book, taking some extra time to browse thru the endless Twitter feed--which is a gold mine of knowledge if you don't mind digging through the weeds! My favorite spot for keeping technical skills current in VAclassroom, they exceed my expectations at a very reasonable price. Also, I learn from the amazing VA community through forums like this one every day, though I am new here and still learning my way around.
Howdy, Terri!

I'll bet there are Twitter search tools that'd make finding the flowers among the weeds a little easier. I avoid Twitter myself (*gasp* from the crowd) so I'm not up on what's out there, but Sue or someone else here might know.
That's great, Jeanette! Any chance you'd come back when you're done and share your thoughts on the value you received from it?
Being a huge audio learner podcast has been the best thing invented. There are some I like better than others but have found many free ones available for learning about the VA industry.
I'm putting together hours and hours of audio for our online training center.
It would be great to have a podcast section to link to helpful podcasts others are using.
