FindVirtual

Find tips, tricks & tools for building a freelance business & virtual lifestyle.

This category has been sorely neglected. If you haven't already, please use this thread to introduce yourself to the community. I know your profile page has lots of information about each of you virtual assistants. But I thought it might be fun in this introductions category to share a personal tidbit.

Here's mine: I'm Sue Canfield, mother of Fiona who will be 6 at the end of March. We homeschool and play 'office' together a lot. She makes me smile every day. :)

Hello Everyone!
I am a part-time virtual assistant, full-time mother, hopeful certified public accountant (waiting to sit for the state board), and an aspiring virtual assistant. At the moment, I sub-contract with a handful of accounting firms to assist with bookkeeping services during tax season. I also assist entrepreneurs with minor administrative tasks to allow for more time to complete what he or she loves versus doing 'paperwork.' - In my spare time, I enjoy going to the beach, playing the piano, and reading Sarah Dessen books - they're amazing! Othewise, you'll see me out having a good time with the girls as well as being a mother and soon to be-wife. Yup, just got engaged :)
Congratulations on your engagement. Since you're a mom, come join my VA Moms group and share how you manage working with children.
I'm Lauretta Frost, a mom, "nana" and recently engaged to a wonderful man on the Valentine's weekend! I have two wonderful grandchildren - a boy, Daegan, 15 months and a girl, Silver, 2 months. They add such joy to my life! :)
Hi All,

I'm Pam Ivey, owner of Pam Ivey Group of Companies - My Creative Assistant, Visual Persuasions Canada, the Canadian Virtual Assistant Network (CVAN), Coaches, Speakers, Authors Professional Assistants Association, and REVA Institute, as well a my latest venture, the Virtual Assistant Training Academy. I'm introducing an Introduction to Virtual Assistance training program in May for those who are entering the industry. I've been teaching this course at Georgian College but decided, after a lot of encouragement from my students, to take it online. Makes sense - we are virtual after all. LOL

I've been a part of the VA industry since February 2001 (an old-timer! :-), and LOVE this community.

I'm looking forward to meeting those of you that I haven't had the pleasure yet, and catching up with my VA buddies here.

Cheers,
Pam

Hi Fellow VAs - I'm Colleen, and I'm just finishing up my Virtual Assistant Certificate and Associate Degree in Web Development, along with some much-needed updating of office skills and software familiarity. I'm sixty-one and have 30+ years in account management, payroll, administration and have owned my own physical business in the past. My business is not, yet, up and running. I hope to remedy that this summer.
Hi Everyone,

My name is Cathy and I reside in PA with my husband and active toddler. Who makes everyday interesting and exciting. I love the fact that working from home allows me to spend time raising my little one.

I have been a VA for about 2.5 years with a niche in Human Resources.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.
Hello, my name is Carrie and I currently own Pure Binary Business Solutions which is a professional small business consulting firm that specializes in providing virtual bookkeeping services for other businesses. In addition to bookkeeping services we also provide other services such as General Administration, Loan Processing and Computer Technology Services.

I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Technology with additional studies in Accounting & Managerial Policies. I also have an Associates degree in Computer Technology. I have over 10+ years in administration, bookkeeping, management and technology. About 15 months ago I decided to go full time in my business. I was in the commercial mortgage industry full time with my business being part time until we felt a huge turn of events with all of the bank bailouts, etc.

On a more personal note.......I am originally from Texas and have lived on the east coast for 12 years. I have been married for several years and we have two beautiful children, ages 10 and 15 months old. My passion (outside of my business) is spending time with my children and being the best mom and wife I can possibly be! I do like to draw and sketch in my free time which there is not much of with trying to keep my business going.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and figuring out this website!

~Carrie

I home school one child and the other just started kindergarten. I am very active in school PTO and other school events, and attend church. I love working from home as it allows me to be here for my children. Being a single parent it is even more important to be available to my children, and working at home allows me to do just that.
That is the life that I want to live. How do you find people/ customers to give you work? That is where I'm having trouble. I am happy to see that you are happy and its fascinating that people are making this dream an actuality.
