Ok. So, I stay up on Sunday nights and do my VA networking and research. I noticed some things tonight that I wanted to bring to everyone's attention!

First...it is very important that everyone looks at their website regularly! TEST YOUR CONTACT FORMS! Hosts & web providers have made changes to PHP coding and rules that will probably effect YOU! What does that mean? Your form may have stopped working completely! Test it out and make sure. If it doesn't work, make sure you are using a Hosting company that regularly updates their servers, PHP, and HTML coding. It isn't always smart to go with the cheapest company for hosting! Especially if your content doesn't stay functioning! (If you would like info on a great company I recommend, let me know!)

Second...Test your website from internet explorer, mozilla firefox...and other web browsers. Most people still use Internet Explorer, and it is important that your site looks the same on all browsers.

Third...If you are interested in offering a "Live Chat" option on your site, consider checking out vollusion.com. I just found the Live Chat service for FREE on their site! I always love finding things for free.

Fourth...make sure all of your links work. You can do this by clicking on each one...or using a web-based program to check them quickly for you. In my research...half of the VA sites i visited have links that don't work!

I know we all get into focusing on our clients' business so often, that we tend to forget about our own...but these things are really important!!!

One more thing I wanted to add! Many of you may think that adding Google Ads to the side or bottom of your page has the potential to earn you some extra money...but do you know what ads are coming up? Most of the ads that are automatically chosen by Google are related directly to your site...which means OTHER VA'S ARE BEING ADVERTISED ON YOUR WEBSITE! Become an affiliate of specific companies that you would feel comfortable advertising...and list them on your site...or specify exactly what category you would like ads for. One suggestion, choose business software ads.
Great tips Amanda!
I have only checked my "contact form" maybe once or twice when my site was first put up a couple years ago. You have certainly encouraged me to go and check it now. It is a very valuable communication tool that needs to be working properly.

You have provided some great reminders we all need to be aware of and constantly checking. Like you said, it is very important. Thanks for posting these.

Make it an awesome day dear!

This is an excellent tip! I noticed that the forms on my page did not redirect to where it suppose to be and I did got suspicious but I did not think that this could be the problem. I know three of my links in my footer do not work because the hyperlinks were not created correctly and I am trying to work out the kinks but I will definitely have to take a look at this. There it is that I am thinking is my lousy web skills!

I am glad you guys were able to use these tips! They are something a lot of people forget about over time!
Thanks for the tip. I have also noticed that all of the information about my services have disappear from the pages and only the news column appears on the page. I am still trying to figure out how that happened and when and how to fix it.
