My birthday is next weekend and for my birthday I requested a home office do-over. I love my office, but in actuality it's just an extension of my teenage bedroom with a bunch of fancy technology thrown in. If you could have anything in your dream home office, what would it be?

Okay, floor to ceiling bookshelves would be a close second on my list. I have one small section, but a whole wall or two would be nice. I'm an avid reader and I would love to have a space dedicated to books.
Oh I think what we need to find is someone who does virtual room makeovers. We can send our nightmare office pictures in and they could give us suggestions. I do have to admit I have the best overview of our farm from my office window. It's the inside that has a bit to be desired.
I don't think this will help you but the first thing that came to mind was an ocean front view out my window!
Well, extra bookshelves is actually on of the things that I desperately want! Like I said, my office is an extension of my childhood bedroom in some respects (I collected pigs, lol) I worry about the future. What if I have to meet a client in my office and they have a pig aversion...haha or just think that it's silly. So, the pigs go in the curio cabinet (you have no idea) and it's time to make room for the grown up stuff. My favorite thing about my office is that it has a huge double paned window on one wall and my Tassimo coffee/tea/hot chocolate/chai maker.
I love this question, without a doubt I would have a 25'-37' flat panel TV on one of the walls. And, dual screen monitors on my desk 21'.
I don't have dual monitors but have a feeling with the new client that I just acquired, I'm going to need an extra monitor now. Maybe even later into the week. Denise, how did you set yours up? Do you mind if I chat privately with you to get some guidance on this matter? Thanks!
I would just like my own office. Right now I am sharing my office and it's not very private. I do have privacy when one is at work but that's about it.
I'd have to go with the flat panel TV hanging on the wall.

I have the dual monitors (22") and love them. We redid our formal living room about a year ago and transformed it into an office set up for two workers (my husband sometimes works from home). Both desks are set up with dual monitors; his is a laptop docking station and a 22" monitor.

I don't have an ocean view, but I do get look out on a nicely manicured golf course complete with two lakes. No, I'm not in a country club -- it's a public course. I love opening the blinds and letting the sun shine in and brighten the room.
