Knowing why you want to write a book is a critical step. It's not the same for everyone.

Do you want to make money?

Is it to establish yourself as an expert in the field?

Is it for personal satisfaction?

Did you see an education gap you'd like to fill?

What's your why?

My why is to provoke change in the behavior of everyone in a harsh business/corporate environment. I want to share ideas that will give people that read my book ways to consider being and introducing a more human approach to business behavior rather than how people think they should be because of pre-programmed ways of thinking.
Laura, I had very similar reasons for writing my first book. Having read bits of your writing, I'm excited about reading your book when it's done (and maybe even about helping get it done.)
Sounds good, because I am on the Board of Directors of an emerging nonprofit, it is a matter of balancing meetings, my business, event coordination, desktop publishing projects, upcoming presentations and my book....so fingers crossed that I am able to get back to it soon!
