My palm treo, MacBook Pro laptop and my VoIP account that gives me free local, interstate and international calls (8 specific countries). Can't live without any of them.
I just bought a Blackberry Curve and I'm already really loving it. You can put 10 email accounts on it! I also am using a contact/practice management software called "Time Matters". This software is widely used in law firms by lawyers, but since it is a software that I've been certified on for nearly 15 years, I am very comfortable with using it in my own business. It is really an excellent tool. I also use Ring Central for online faxing and am in the brave Vista world :-).
I have used with a one client but I don't see at as a replacement for Skype because Google requires you to set up a google account and some people don't want to do that.
I know they have to do the same with Skype but with Google you get so much more and that scares some people.
I've used skype for years and even though I already have a google account I wouldn't be comfortable using googletalk. I can see it changing from a free app to a pay app swiftly, especially with the economic hit google is taking at present.
It is also more complicated to use, less secure, and not compatible with all platforms.
I use SBS 2003 and the Okta Touch PDA.... like the iphone and blackberry... I just can't do without my Okta :)
For our PABX we use AVAYA hardware and software. I also use NCH.com.au express scribe software for transcription, HTML kit for html editing, emailbrain.com, mailworkz.com and so on.. I just love technology. There is just so much stuff we use. We use a lot of free software online so we can test and recommend to clients.
I use Express Scribe for transcription, Dreamweaver (website management), my Toshiba Satellite laptop and Skype. Love technology, especially if it streamlines my processes.
I use a variety of technology in my VA practice -- Macbook (using Bootcamp -- so I have the best of both worlds -- half of my hard drive is Mac OS and the other half is Windows Vista), Dell laptop, my iPod Touch (for twitter and checking email). The software programs I use daily are Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Editplus (for when I handcode HTML). I also use Audacity for my podcast editing and I will be trying out Garageband on my Mac soon!
