So you chose to work from home because you wanted to spend more time with your family and focus on your children. But then you get caught up working and at the end of the day feel you haven't spent enough time with your kids and the feelings of guilt start to move in.
Perhaps it's not as bad as you think. Take a few minutes at the end of each day to write down exactly what you did with your children that day. Your list may look something like this:
1. Spent 5 minutes before breakfast reading a book with my child
2. After lunch we spent 20 minutes coloring or working on another craft or project
3. After dinner we played a board game for 20 minutes
4. At bedtime we spent 15 minutes snuggling and reading
Look at that! Throughout the day you spent time focusing on your child and probably spent more time than many working moms are able with your little one.
So instead of dwelling on feelings of guilt, focus on what you are doing each day with your child. Keeping track of your list on a daily basis for a week will help you realize that you spend more time with your child than you thought and help you overcome feelings of guilt.
How do you deal with your feelings of guilt?
