Hello Everyone, my background and experience has been in insurance and telemarketing, but life has changed, so I'm in the process of re-inventing myself. I am wanting to expand my VA practice to add bookkeeping services. I have a BS in Business Administration so I was required to take several accounting courses. I am here to learn more about the field. If anyone has any overflow or sub contracting work, I'd be interested in talking with you.

So curious are there any virtual tax preparers out there that focus specifically on the VA industry?

BOOKKEEPING TRAINING SERVICES

Regardless of your level of knowledge, the class is designed for all user levels, from the novice to the experienced. Students will be presented with real life scenarios, designed to explain the “how” and “why” behind bookkeeping practices. Our instructor allows students to ask questions throughout the program about their specific QuickBooks needs. Training is delivered by telephone or virtually. Our goal is to reduce frustration and increase accuracy, by preparing the student with the tools and understanding needed to take advantage of QuickBooks. Discover how to make you and your business more successful.

This program is right for you if:
• Have little to no knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting software
• Need a refresher course on bookkeeping
• Need to minimize employee costs by cutting back on staff
• Want a better understanding of your company’s financial picture to make key decisions
• Tired of trying to make sense of debits & credits
• Overwhelmed with transactions and no one to handle them
• You have no current record keeping system
• You're ready to take action!

What you should expect:
• Clear, precise, easy to understand training system
• Support and guidance in system setup, development & maintenance
• The convenience of meeting weekly by telephone – no need to go anywhere except to your nearest phone
• Access to resources (newsletters, web links, discounted software, products & supplies)
• Class recordings that you will have ongoing future access to, in case you missed a class or had trouble keeping up with all the material!

Just wanted to share a resource I just found out about...a site that is a directory of freelance bookkeepers and businesses looking for freelance bookkeepers. Eventually, there will be a fee for getting into the directory, but because it is in beta right now, you can get in for free.

It can't hurt to have another listing out there. I'm going to give it a try.

It's called www.BookkeeperWanted.net and it is run by a fellow freelance bookkeeper - Sylvia Jaumann.

Enjoy!

I was just curious if any of you members got a chance to watch and or listen to the IAC webinar. Please remember to post your comments and suggestions in the discussion forum so I can give IAC Professionals some feed back. I truely think you'll find it could be an opportunity for some of you.

Collette:
If you would need a transcript of any webinar I am available to do these. This is also part of the services that I offer.
