I think the difficulty here is in the legal profession's slow adoption of technology. Basically, most attorneys are not in a position to outsource their work because 1) they don't know that it is possible, 2) they are still entirely paper-based and 3) they don't have the knowledge or the technology to manage outsourced work.

Hello, everyone! I don't know how I missed this group before! I was a legal assistant for, well, a really long time. :) Ok - 25 years. The strange thing is I only have three clients that are attorneys!! Very strange. I can't decide if the legal industry just isn't predisposed to using the virtual industry, or I'm not looking in the right places. Thoughts anyone?

Hello everyone,

I have been in the legal industry for more than 14 years! I have worked as an admin, an executive assistant, an office manager, an IT Manager and a legal technology consultant. I thought I'd join this group and would love to be able to provide help to anyone seeking legal technology advice as to what is popular or pitfalls to avoid. Glad to join and hope I can help!

Hi!
I just thought I would introduce myself! I am a newbie VA and live in Crediton, Devon, UK. I am a full time legal secretary, mostly working in conveyancing, and decided to start up my VA Business with one eye on the future. I am a little way off retiring but I thought I would start my Business off slowly and maybe once I have established myself I could have the option of dropping hours from my "day" job and working from home. I am also working on a Bookkeeping and Accountance Course, which will take about 2 years to complete and this will also give another string to my bow and something again I can happily do from home! My website is just about there (!) and I am now looking about advertising my services. Hopefully it won't be long until I get my very first customer!

In my research to become a VA I've found some great websites and some really friendly and helpful people. I wish I thought about doing this years ago!
