Curing Shiny Object Syndrome: Clarifying the Outcomes

Does your Virtual Assistance client have "Shiny Object Syndrome"? Distractions are everywhere and for professionals who have “Shiny Object Syndrome” (SOS) the world is a dangerous, and expensive place. Slick, pervasive marketing campaigns attract even the most educated and otherwise disciplined executives to chase the next best thing.

Stress Buster Moves for Work From Home Entrepreneurs

As work-from-home entrepreneurs we experience stress on a daily basis. We deal with client deadlines, acquiring new clients, client retention, team building... the list is endless! And this is before spouse and kids get home.

SOS: Help! My Client Has Shiny Object Syndrome

Shiny Object Syndrome is one of the root causes of business mediocrity. Otherwise capable individuals find themselves distracted by new technology, new coaches, new business models, etc. These individuals are seduced by the promise of something better, usually because they are not getting the results they want.

Clutter Busters

Inert (adj.) - Having no inherent ability to move or to resist motion. Does this describe the clutter on your desk and in your office?

6 Steps To Clearing Off Your Desk

As a rule of thumb, it can be more efficient to have a well organized workspace. An organized workspace allows you to focus on the task at hand rather than losing focus while looking for a misplaced paper or file.

Hi Ann Nice to meet you. I am in several local networking groups and so far this is where I have found 3 clients in one weeks time. I'm just getting started so haven't done a lot of marketing. That seems to be the best way so far. Good luck and if I come up with other things I'll let you know.

So far the old fashioned way has been best for me. I target small businesses in my local area within the industries that I know and have experience in. I have gotten all of my clients that way.
Right now I'm working on marketing. I have one client that is in a down mode and another one is supposed to be contacting me today.
My biggest challenge has been finding the balance. At one point several months ago I had more work than I could keep up with, now it's quiet. I'm trying to more into areas that I can have a more controlled steady stream of work so that I can plan around any needs for sub contractors.
Good Luck with your client search
Ann
