Noticed your update about blog vs. website and thought I'd comment.
In my experience a combination of the 2 is best and WordPress is my favorite way to do this.
Be sure to consider how often you'll update the blog as well. Many times folks set out with the best intentions of blogging but find it hard to make time for consistent updates.
If you can keep the blog rolling the benefits will pay off with increased content in Search Engines and a more active and engaging website.
Let me know if you need help with it too. There are several members here at FV that may be able to help you get it all set-up.

Hmmm...FreeBlogFactory looks great but for $9.95 a month it seems steep.
You might want to contact Jason Murphy, another member of FV.
He does a lot of WordPress freelance stuff and has designed a lot of sites for our members over the years.
