More Tips to Manage Your Home Life While You Work From Home....

I have been in business since July 2008 and I'm extremely pleased with business and how it is taking off! Especially since I had a baby right after I started my business in August. I currently have three clients and I am being outsourced by another Virtual Assistant. Because of this, things have been a little disruptive in my home life to say the least! Now, my husband has just received a promotion at work as a detective which means longer hours for him and in the end, longer hours for me too!… Continue

"One More Minute..."

I love my job. I love being able to stay at home with my kids. But some days I wonder: are they getting the short end of the deal? How many times during the day do you utter the words, "One more minute. Just one more minute and then I'll look." I know I must say it to my son at least fifty times. Am I missing out on something or is he? I sometimes feel like I can't stop. I just need to finish this one email, this one blog, this one phone call. Sometimes I forget that he is two and I don't… Continue

Social Networking (And All That Other Cool Online Stuff)

I spent the majority of the day with my sick son (who I lovingly refer to as Captain Pukey Pants) and my laptop. Lucky for me it was a slow day, so I was able to do most of my work from the sofa of my living room with my son and his bucket lying next to me. While keeping up-to-date with the Twitter world from Twhirl, a tweet came through about a blog listing the "50 Most Influential Women in Social Networking". Well, I got totally caught up in looking at all 50 of these websites and blogs. Wow,… Continue

And So it Began...Because I Was on Bedrest

Wow...so I started my Virtual Assistance business in July of 2008. It has been a fun journey so far, even though I'm only 3 months into it! First, it would make most sense to give you a background on me! For some reason, I feel that this blog will bring me the type of clients that I'm looking for. Not to say that the clients that I currently have are not worthy of my time, they most certainly are! Especially the ones that fit into my "population" that I have in mind. But, if I tell my story,… Continue

Rebecca,
I enjoyed reading your postings. The world of the Virtual Assistant has many roads. I need to chat with you someday about Twitter.

Yea, actually it can be pretty seamless. Not keep in mind, there are different versions of WordPress.

Hosted by WordPress and Hosted By You.

These templates are for the Hoster by You Version. To be honest the other, free version of WordPress is useless...you cannot add PayPal to it nor any other javascript or third party code. My advice would be to buy a $3.99 hosting account from GoDaddy or even here at find virtual which is what I did yesterday - Kelly has some program worked out with GoDaddy to get ridiculous rates on some of their stuff so I took advanatge of it: http://services.findvirtual.com/

Anyway, once you've bought hosting launching WordPress on your own domain will take all of about 5 minutes. then you can sinstall the templates you like.

I am actually working on this very same set-up for at least 5 other members right now and they are thrilled. Let me know if I can hook you up. I charge $150 for the whole she-bang with some initial SEO added in there to get you started.

As far as importing blogger content, WordPress has an import feature that will allow you to "suck" all of that content into your new blog.

We would then just forward the URL you use now to the new WordPress site and be done with it...I know that sounds complicated but it's not. Takes about 3 days to do the whole thing and get a new site running...

I did mine yesterday and here it is: http://jasnm.com/
