Hello fellow VAs!!
So I get questions about WHY be a part-time VA and HOW. Well as a background, I'm a 25 yr old single mother finishing up my Master's Degree in Human Resources. I work a full-time job 40 hours a week as an Office Manager, go to school full-time, and am part of the VA world on a part-time basis. You say, where's your social life? Be Young...you're only 25!!
To tell you the truth, I would rather NOT have to pay back student loans so being a part-time VA…

Virtual assistants seem to be primarily female. But what is a virtual assistant? Someone that helps from a virtual location I suppose right?
Then why can't more men break into this field and create a virtual practice of their own? I have started to provide virtual seervices under the title virtual assistant just recently. But really, I've been a virtual assistant my entire career. While working as a software sales rep I telecommuted to my office each day and worked virtually to…

A virtual assistant is one of the most helpful resources a busy individual can have. More specifically, a virtual assistant is a person that has a specific skill set that allows them to work virtually for you. Tasks such as data-entry, medical transcription and website design are a few of the most popular skill sets amongst virtual assistants. However there are literally hundreds of tasks that can be outsourced to a virtual assistant. Truth is, a virtual assistant can be anyone, work from…

Your dream was to find clients to keep you busy and now your business has done just that plus some. It's a good thing but do you feel overwhelmed? If so you need to learn how to delegate.
That's where I can help. My VA business is Virtual Dream Office Services. The industry I focus on getting business from are other VAs. This is done by subcontracting my services to them. It's a win win situation. The workload is lifted from them and I have the opportunity to experience a lot of…

Hi, sorry I have been so MIA this week. We just launched the redesigned site last week and are already up to over 100 members. We are trying hard to balance a lot of tasks right now while maintaining our clients workload. We are adding to our team tomorrow and over the weekend. I've managed to recruit a few of my colleagues to help chip in and keep the site fresh!
I think we are going to kick around the idea of organizing the site better too. Just need to find the time to do it...can…

People seem to be losing their professional touch where telephone etiquette is concerned. Here are a few tips that will make your caller feel like they rang a Fortune 500 company.
1-Smile. Callers like to hear a friendly, happy voice at the other end of the line. Even if you’re having a bad day, it helps to smile when you’re dialing and when you answer the phone. It will help put your callers at ease and give the impression that you are pleasant and…

It's time to talk sense about outsourcing
Originally published by the Wharton University of Pennsylvania
“…Experts at Wharton and the Boston Consulting Group point out that outsourcing… is no longer a tactical option that can help firms save a few dollars here and there; it is a strategic necessity…”

The Benefits of Offshore Outsourcing
Originally published by PC Magazine
As more companies transfer programming and call- center jobs offshore, the topic of offshore outsourcing is raging throughout the information technology industry. I understand the frustration of workers whose jobs have moved and of customers who fail to get their technical-support questions answered. But the backlash may be overblown. One of the latest studies indicates that the trend may actually be…

Found this online and thought it was a good read. Originally published By MGI (McKinsey Global Institute)
“…this and other benefits could translate to a net impact of a 50 percent increase in profits for American businesses…”
Many businesses have turned to offshoring as a way to boost profits while many politicians believe that the gain is made only at the unacceptable cost of American jobs. MGI's latest research and analysis offer a new perspective:…

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to everyone that I will be offline all weekend. My husband Jason and I will be travelling out of town for a family Wedding. We feel bad too because up here in Ohio it is raining really bad! Hopefully, the bride will have a positive attitude and thank god for her blessings. I'm sure it will be a great time despite the weather!
Anyway, have fun posting on FindVirtual.com and using the tools we've provided. We're going to have a great next week…

Good morning to all out there in this fabulous virtual world!
Since I am new here, just wanted to give you some background and information about myself and my business. I started a virtual assistant business about a year ago and it has been one of the best things I have ever done!
A bit about me and my family:
I live in Texas in a little bitty town way out in the country and absolutely love it! The biggest city closest to me is Fort Worth, however, that is about 35…

I am looking for a virtual assistant in the $8-$10 dollar an hour range to help me with the following tasks:
1. Mining email addresses and contact information from websites. I will provide a niche I am interested in and you will find the sites and contact information.
2. Link building - I need someone to help me build reciprocal links with websites that compliment my site.
Please message me here if you are interested.
Thanks.

Naturally, I spend a lot of time on the Web. I have been folowing this service for about a year now and it is finally out of beta. As an early adopter I had a chance to use this service for the entire beta period. I found this service not only easy to use but extremely helpful.
Here is a blurb I copied from the Jott website, it describes the fundamental service offering.
"Jott makes sure you stay on top of everything. With a simple phone call to 866-JOTT-123, you can…

I am starting on a mobile version of a website for one of my clients. Anyone have any recommendations so I don't try and reinvent the wheel? I know that is pretty vague but The Dude meant it to be that way so he gets a wide range of feedback!
thx,
