Since the official release of
The Commonsense Virtual Assistant one week ago, we've sold over a dozen copies to VAs as far as New Zealand. Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, 2009 we go on a virtual book tour.

"Last thing said, first thing remembered." Ever heard this old adage? When it comes to presentations, it's worth keeping in mind. Your closing is your last chance to make a good impression. It's the final imprint that the audience is left with. It's often the key, after a tough Q&A session, to ending on a good note. It should be memorable and, in persuasive talks, should move the audience to action.
The conclusion of a talk is the last of three essential components of a…

Chances are that at some point or another we have all wanted to go out on our own - away from our current occupations - and start a new career path as a solo professional in our field of specialization. But why don't we? What holds so much of us back from going out and doing what it is that we want to do with our lives? Why do we allow ourselves to be tied to our employer as if we're tied into our cubicle with invisible wires? What skill do we really need in order to finally break free from the…

We just finished watching "Dogville". A few were impressed at Lars von Trier's direction such that they worried about what to write for our paper. But many of us had ambivalent reactions. I, for one, wouldn't think of writing help. Or even seeking guidance from a film buff. The movie sucks and it reeks of conceit.
It's not that von Trier is a mediocre filmmaker; on the contrary, he's probably one of contemporary cinema's geniuses. When it comes to innovation, the Danish director is…
