Virtual Assistant or Business Owner - Which Are You

I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know many virtual assistants during my short time in business. I have also seen my business triple since I started in April 0f 2008 and I say all that to bring me to the point of this post. Virtual Assistant or Business Owner? Most would answer they are both but really your a "Business Owner" and this is what alot of Virtual Assistant's seem not realize.

In the grand scheme of things we start a business to do something we enjoy,… Continue

More Tips to Manage Your Home Life While You Work From Home....

I have been in business since July 2008 and I'm extremely pleased with business and how it is taking off! Especially since I had a baby right after I started my business in August. I currently have three clients and I am being outsourced by another Virtual Assistant. Because of this, things have been a little disruptive in my home life to say the least! Now, my husband has just received a promotion at work as a detective which means longer hours for him and in the end, longer hours for me too!… Continue

Helping a Client put together her workbook and more

I'm very excited to be able to help a client put together her very first workbook. I'm creating many worksheets and some of the content. I found a local printer to print and spiral bind the books. It's all very exciting.

I also got a referral from another virtual assistant for work. This has been my busiest, most productive month yet in the years I've been doing this. I only see it getting better. In fact, I may be looking to add someone to my team after the first of the… Continue

Who Do You Want to Lead?

Seth Godin has recently published a book called Tribes. I've read it and passed it along as he asks. He says he started out to write another marketing book and ended up writing about leadership. I was able to listen to a call where he talks about his book. I made some notes and want to share them with you and get your feedback.

Seth says there's no shortage of people who want to be in a tribe; what's lacking are people willing to be leaders of a tribe. In today's economy people are… Continue

Job Zone

I went to the job zone link up at the top today and I was able to contact a couple of employers (or at least leave them a voice message). Can anybody give me a testimonial on how effective are these links, I'd really like to know. I'm interested in a FTE as a VA.

best regards

Business Owners: Which news headline should you pay attention to?

I used to be a news junkie but after years of hearing nothing but

bad news I became pretty jaded to it all.

However, it is pretty tough to ignore headlines about the economy

and the upcoming election. The problem is that business owners who

are doing fine are afraid to invest in their businesses and move

forward as they should.

I poked my nose into MSN.com a few days ago and it prompted me

to share my thoughts with you.

There were two… Continue

How to balance work and family!

Problem: How do you balance work and family when there are only 24 hours in a day???

Here is the a little outline of the best solutions I've come up with:

1. Have a plan. Imagine walking through the woods with no trail or map. Most of your time is spent going in circles with little hope of finding your way back out. Focus on your family plan first and then on your business plan. I suggest the family plan first because your ability to keep everything going will depend on a solid… Continue

Keeping Fit When Your Time is Mostly in the Chair

If you are like me, trying to keep a regular fitness routine going is difficult when the first thing you do when you get up in the morning is head to the computer. I try to carve out a half hour to stop and work out, but many times, I end up getting involved with work, forum posts or emails and I tend to shrug off the workout.

So, here are a few things that you can do to at least try to keep yourself on track:

1) Make sure you get up and take a quick walk around the house… Continue

Hi All

Just making blog posts to test the system and become more familiar with making entries.

for FYI purposes, I had hear initially about the concept of a Virtual Assistant from Good Morning America with the changing trend from a traditional assistant and this new wave coming in. I immediately thought, "Hey! that's an idea that hung over my head: Why can't an Administrative Assistant/Scty. work from the comfort of home, being that much of communication is via phone/voice email".… Continue

Age + Skills= VA Client

Hello All:

Whew! I can't believe it almost the end of October. I can't wait for Halloween to arrive and can't wait to see what visuals my fellow VAs have in store after the weekend is over =)

So after "spring" cleaning during the fall season, I encounter some memos from a client back when I was (18).

The memo reads, "Due to your age and no educational experience in the college sector of any kind, we highly doubt you are capable of performing tasks at our request… Continue

Benefits of Outsourcing to a Virtual Assistant

Outsourcing is more than a buzzword or trend. The concept of outsourcing has been applied to many industries such as manufacturing, textiles and construction. The idea is simple; find someone to do whatever it is that you don't want to do yourself. When it comes to internet business the concept of outsourcing has a different name, Virtual Assistance.

Virtual assistance is a rapidly growing employment option for people who have a skill set that affords them the opportunity to work… Continue
