Living as a Freelancer - A Guide for the Freelance Wannabe

I bumped into a friend of mine online the other day, his name is Luca Panzarella. Luca is sharp as hell and has been on his own since 2006. He's a UX Designer by trade but has started (and successfully sold) several companies. He really is a cool dude.

Anyway, we were talking about some of his recent projects. He's been spending a lot of time building mobile apps, which is no surprise because mobile is all about…

Sure Facebook and Twitter are great, there are advantages to every marketing tactic and strategy. But Yelp provides a more real, personal and local connection that other websites just can't quite duplicate.

Yelp is a local review site where consumers…

Retail Facebook Marketing Strategies Need to Improve

The Facebook Season of Opportunity.

Facebook marketing using the "deals" check-in service provides a perfect opportunity for retailers to gather fans, data and intelligence from customers. With so many people hitting the mall during the holiday shopping season, the time is now to get started and create the initial push of social media marketing at the retail, brick & mortar level.

That being said, retailers will need to do their part. Simply placing a sticker… Continue

Social Media Consultants Try Too Hard

Ah yes, another exploitable channel for the consultant to explore, social media. Seems like Social Media Consultants are popping up everywhere these days too. The formula seems to work like this. Gain a basic understanding of social media or at least enough to be smarter than your clients, obtain a few hundred if not thousand followers on Twitter and a another few hundred fans on…

Google to Acquire Twitter Today

It has been rumored that Google is going to acquire twitter today.
Pretty cool and makes a lot of sense.

I'd like to start a conversation here about why that move might make sense for Google.
Here is the link to the blog I read it on, not sure if they were the first to break it or not.

Kelso wins! Ashton Kutcher wins the race to 1,000,000 on Twitter

This really was interesting. I came into it kinda late but I got caught up in it quick. You can only type 140 characters or less at a time so the sentences are short and come in bursts.

Anyway, here is a great link a summary of the race in an interactive graph… Continue
