Failure is NOT an Option by Patty Benton

Starting any new venture is always exciting but sometimes it can be a little daunting. I found this to be the case when I was researching Virtual Assistance. At first I purchased memberships to all kinds of groups, then I jumped on the eBook bandwagon and bought several of those. Unfortunately there wasn't much to either of them. There was no one-stop, step by step, how-to resource for getting started in this business. At least I couldn't find any that didn't cost a fortune. So, I cut my losses, stopped the bleeding and just decided to go for it on my own, the old fashioned trial and error way. It's been a little slow, but I have found some great advice here and there along the way at forums like FindVirtual.com and others. It was at one of these forums that I, and other members were approached to review an eBook for one of the members. I was skeptical at first, given my past eBook experience, but I decided to give it a shot. It wasn't going to cost me anything but a little bit of my time.

Patty Benton forwarded me her book:

Failure is NOT an option and I let it sit in my Inbox for a few days before I couldn't resist anymore and dove in. It was well worth my time, and looking back now, I'd gladly purchase it if she hadn't provided me with a free copy for reviewing it. It's a wonderful, solid resource and I will recommend it all day long! And, no, by the way, I'm not an affiliate and I won't be making any money off of this recommendation. It's just that good.
If you're just starting out, I'd recommend it over anything else I've read and it's also a good resource if you're already established and are looking for a few new ideas. We all get stuck in a rut sometimes and this book will help you get the wheels turning again.

Here's a link to the book.

Enjoy!

Hi Cecilia. I think it's wonderful that you have a local VA association that you can go to for support.

Hi Marta. Thanks so much for the tip! I am new to the VA business, and any bit of advice goes a long way. I joined a VA Association here in PA, and we had a luncheon on Saturday. It was my first time attending one of these functions, and I met all of my counterparts (all totally wonderful girls). After the luncheon, I felt so rejuvenated and confident that it was like an awakening for me. It was great to get the support and encouragement from the entire group.

This title really caught my eye. Around here we agree that failure isn't an option. Any 'mistakes' made along the way are just opportunities to learn.

However, sometimes our 'failures' are what move us forward. I look forward to looking at the book.
