Preparing Your VA Business for the Holiday's and Preping Your Clients for the New Year

I've been thinking about this topic lately and wondering what I should be doing to prepare my VA business for the holiday's. Is it going to slow down or speed up? Should I be planning to take care of those business details that I have yet to get around to? Maybe I should stop taking on new clients to focus on my current clients and helping them to prepare for 2009.

I will be prepping my own business for 2009 and planning what my VA business goals will be for the year. Everything from new product/service launches to transitioning from an LLC to an S Corp for better tax and legal protection.

What are doing to prepare your VA business for 2009? Will you be doing the same for your clients?

I have decided to continue taking on very specific types of clients and working heavily with my current clients to complete any projects for the year and planning for bigger and better goals (projects) for 2009. My plan is to have each of my clients complete an end of year survey and questionnaire about where their business is going and what they want to be doing in 2009.

With that information I'm able to provide them with ways that as their VA I can assist them with their goals and plans. But even more so help them make their goals bigger and achievable. So what are you doing for your clients to help them in 2009?

Thanks Kelly and I love the idea of workbook for your clients. I can see how it will act as a guide for both you and your clients as you move through the year.

Great idea, thanks for sharing.

Monique, great post, I enjoy your professional approach to business. I am working on a workbook for my clients. It is a fill-in-the-blank workbook that frames business goals in a matter of fact way.

I pose questions and my clients fill in the blanks.

The workbook is long, 72 pages if completed entirely and it becomes the marketing business plan for most of my clients. At first it seems silly but this simple yet straightforward approach makes planning easier by asking the folks that make decisions to simply fill in the blanks.

Not only does it become a plan but a soft-agreement regarding the business goals we plan on working together to achieve each year.

It has become a great way to lead thoughts with my clients.

Kel :)
