While it is true that you can become a VA without certification. This new field is like any other career, those who are certified or have a degree as a Virtual Office Professional will have that extra edge.

Sierra College offers both a AA-degree or Certificate in the VA field. I found this especially appealing as a 30-something wife and mother with some college under my belt but no degree. In this program all classes are done online for the certificate and most of the general education courses can be done online as well.
